Footage from the day Kay-Alana went missing was released by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The video showed officers handling the call, breaking her window, and searching the woods. One officer was heard calling her a “meth head,” which has raised concerns about the handling of the situation.
Kay-Alana was last seen driving away from deputies on March 10, 2023, in the 18000 block of Country Hills Drive. Despite extensive searches, only her phone and shoes were found. Her family believes she was suffering from a mental health crisis at the time of her disappearance.
