Today I’m going to be sharing my thoughts on both the Hyperlite Mountain Gear 2400 Windrider and Zpacks Nero backpacks. In this review, I’ll be talking about the similarities and the differences, the pros, and the cons and even about what to expect when shipping them over here to the UK from the US. They’re both really good backpacks for very different reasons, but which one will I be taking with me on my round the world hiking trip?

When I was doing my research I was looking for a pack that’s lightweight, strong, simple and is designed for long distance hiking. I wanted a pack that will hold a minimal amount of stuff and would fit in the overhead luggage compartment on planes.

I ordered both of these packs as I thought it would be a good idea to test both of them to see which pack was most suitable for hiking long distances, travelling the world and for being used over extended periods of time.

Both of these packs are made out of Dyneema Composite or Cuben Fibre as it’s also known as in the hiking community.

Dyneema is an ultra light, ultra strong, waterproof synthetic material which is also used to make sailing boat sails, fishing nets, ropes and military grade fabrics.

However, these packs are made of slightly different thicknesses off Cuben Fibre which makes a massive difference in weight which is very important when choosing a pack for long term travel.
