Do you recall singing the ABCs as a kid? This song serves as a first introduction to the alphabet for many children. It's also possible that this is their first time speaking from memory. The English alphabet consists of 26 letters that represent the language's sounds. When learning to read, children must be able to recognize these letters and their sounds. The alphabet is often taught to children at an early age. However, some students may require additional time and practice to grasp all of the letters.

It can be difficult to assist your youngsters in learning their alphabet. So, where do you begin? Is it better to go in order? How can you best assist them in their learning? What is my recommendation? Keep it lighthearted! Knowing the alphabet is necessary for babies and preschoolers to begin recognizing letters and learning phonetics. When children are exposed to the alphabet through music, it is a great time to start teaching them. Kids begin to recognize some letters and can sing or pronounce the "ABC" song loudly. About half of the letters in the alphabet are recognized by children, and they begin to associate letters with their sounds.

All of the letters of the alphabet, as well as their correct order, are commonly known by children.

Most children can connect each letter to its sound. Individual letters or groups of letters that make up a child's name can be difficult to recognize for some children. They may mix up letters that appear to be the same. It's also possible that a child requires greater exposure to the alphabet. However, for some children, not knowing the alphabet could indicate a more serious language problem.

💠 Model AAC while you watch (don't worry about keeping up the pace). Pause when you want!
💠 Talk about other words that start with different letters.
