This is my second visit to Belmont Mill ghost town. Don't mistake this for the other ghost town by the name of just "Belmont". It's probably in one of the most remote parts of Nevada. A fairly smooth off road ride (Off highway 50 between Eureka and Ely, Nevada, until about the last two miles on the off the beaten path. It get's a bit rough at the end. Plan to walk everywhere once to the mill as it will require serious ATVs to access anywhere else in the area. I drove my 2014 Chevy Cruze back here my first time IN November 2014 (BRAND NEW CAR) with much regret. I feared I would not make it back out with my car but managed to stealthily make my way in with it. There were never a lot of buildings here to begin with, but what is left has fallen to ruins. People mostly lived in tents here back in the mining days. There is a group of people who make great efforts to keep the mill standing as far as replacing decaying wood in the structure, adding support, cables and whatever else it may take. If you decide to go back here, the ghost town and the land is owned by the United States Government. Unfortunately there are idiots that come back here and do destroy and vandalize this piece of American history. If humans never came back here this would be an immaculate place to visit.
