Great War Trenches: The Trench of Death in Flanders Fields

Описание к видео Great War Trenches: The Trench of Death in Flanders Fields

Once again Belgium became the battlefield of Europe during the Great War or World War I. In particular one area of Belgium, the western corner of Flanders, better known now as 'Flanders Fields', was scarred by craters and trenches, poisoned by gas, shells, ammunition and human remains.

The trenches have become inextricably linked to the Great War or World War I. Many of these trenches have disappeared, but Flanders Fields still has a few sites, such as the Trench of Death near Diksmuide on the former Yser-Front. This video explores these Great War trenches, some of the best conserved that can be visited today.
