Moorabool Shire Council has organised a series of community sessions with independent experts to address various aspects of the Western Victoria Transmission Network Project, a project that proposes a high-voltage transmission line run nearly 200km through properties from Melbourne’s north-west to Bulgana. The aim of these community sessions is to help Moorabool residents be better informed on the complexities of the project that is being administered by AusNet Services. Due to the current restrictions of COVID-19, the sessions will be held online.

The first online community session: Understanding the Environmental Effects Statement (EES) process, was held on Wednesday 23 September with Jack Krohn, Senior Impact Assessor at the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. Mr Krohn educated residents on the EES process, which was deemed necessary by the Minister for Planning in August 2020.
