MGB Lever Shock Topping Off

Описание к видео MGB Lever Shock Topping Off

These ares Armstrong lever shocks, (damper) on the front of my '72 MGB. It sure looks like an 👽 alien's head to me.
They use similar hydraulic principles as tube shocks, but these shocks also make up the top control arm of the front suspension. So when you replace the shock, you are also replacing the top control arm with it. Very unique.
Anyway, my car has next to no, or very little, damping, when hitting a bump. This is not right. So I'm just trying to buy some time by filling the shocks with oil and hope I can get better damping until I replace them.
The problem with doing this is if your shock needs oil, then it leaked out and needs to be serviced or replaced. If it all leaked out, then it could be damaged internally, and no amount of oil will reverse this damage.
The last time I priced rebuilt ones, they were $140 plus $40 core charge each You get the core charge back when u ship your old shock back.
Happy Bouncing Down the Road !!
