Getting out of the black car in the video , I strolled to the beach sand at the edge of the water and took in the melancholy, abandoned-look panorama. Thinking the place could inspire a poem of desolation and loneliness. Frequent sad stories of drownings off the notorious sandbar, despite its WARNING sign.[ Below an earlier post on Conimicut Point ] :
Always dangerous-not a few drownings there-is the Conimicut Point sandbar in Warwick. A WPRI report( July22.2013 ) : " locals say the sand goes from solid to quick sand " in no time. Another near horror story there: " Police had nothing but praise for bystanders who took it upon themselves to rescue five people from the treacherous tide at Conimicut on Sunday afternoon."
I always found the beach at Conimicut had an abandoned, eerie ,lonely look.
