In Latvian folklore, Father Thunder (Latvian: Pērkons) is a central figure in mythology and folk songs. He is often seen as a powerful, protective deity associated with thunderstorms, justice, and fertility. Father Thunder was believed to chase away evil spirits and cleanse the land, bringing both destruction and renewal.
