Southern Oregon Coast

Описание к видео Southern Oregon Coast

Welcome to the Southern Oregon Coast. Our 1st Beach stop is a Battle Rock Wayside Park in Port Orford. The Park is named for a historic battle between the Native/ Indigenous people of the area and the 1st mariners of the Pacific Coast. The beach offers spectacular seascapes.
For Lunch I recommend Redfish. Redfish is a fine dining restaurant featuring Pacific Northwest flavors, with one of the most spectacular views of Battle Rock.
Cape Blanco Lighthouse - Built in 1870, This isolated lighthouse holds at least four Oregon records: it is the oldest continually operating light, the most westerly, it has the highest focal plane above the sea, (256 feet), and Oregon’s first woman keeper in 1903. If you are interested you can also tour the Hughes House built is 1898. This place was giving off vibes so we did not stay for a tour.
BANDON STATE NATURAL AREA- Is another great place for dramatic coastal scenery. The Beach here is Dog friendly so the puppies got their second beach walk on a very windy day.
Less trafficked than the northern Oregon beaches, but with plenty of outdoor adventures, secluded beaches make this a great area to visit. There is so much to see here but for now, we are headed South to Northern California and the Redwood National and State Parks. But we plan to comeback.
