How to Make a Square Mug by Hand

This is how I make a square-based slab mug by hand without using a pottery wheel. I make this mug using a template. Pottery templates can help you make evenly shaped and proportioned slab pottery mugs. Using a pottery pattern will allow you to make sets of mugs that are the same shape and size.
