In 1 Corinthians 4–6, Paul continues correcting the Corinthian church by calling believers to humility, purity, and spiritual maturity. He reminds them that ministers are stewards—not celebrities—and that God alone is the true Judge. Paul then confronts serious moral corruption, rebuking the church for tolerating sin and for taking disputes before unbelievers. These chapters emphasize the holiness of the believer, the seriousness of sin, and the truth that the body belongs to the Lord.

This continues my first time reading through the Bible using the King James Version (KJV). I leave in pauses, stumbles, and mispronunciations to show that it’s okay not to be perfect. I want you to feel encouraged to read God’s Word for yourself without fear or shame.

📖 Chapters Covered:

1 Corinthians 4 — Stewards of Christ, Not Men-Pleasers:
Paul teaches that apostles are “stewards of the mysteries of God” (4:1), and the only requirement is faithfulness. He warns against pride and factionalism, reminding the church that human judgment is limited: “He that judgeth me is the Lord” (4:4). Paul urges humility and invites them to imitate his example of sacrificial service.

1 Corinthians 5 — Confronting Open Sin in the Church:
Paul rebukes the Corinthians for tolerating immorality that even the world condemns. He commands discipline for the unrepentant believer, warning that “a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump” (5:6). The goal is purity in the church and repentance for the sinner.

1 Corinthians 6 — Lawsuits, Purity, and the Body as God’s Temple:
Paul condemns believers taking one another to court before unbelievers, urging them to settle disputes in love. He then warns plainly that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God (6:9–10), but celebrates redemption: “Such were some of you: but ye are washed…” (6:11). He ends with a powerful call to holiness: “Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost… therefore glorify God in your body” (6:19–20).
