Two Australian musicians with Indian roots captivated audiences at ‘Gig on the Green’, hosted on the lawns of the Australian High Commission in New Delhi. Goa-born Reuben de Melo, winner of The Voice Australia 2024, and Sydney-based artist Milan Ring delivered energetic performances celebrating their cultural connections.

Reuben fondly recalled growing up in Goa and his love for the film Border and its iconic song “Sandese Aate Hain.” Milan Ring described visiting India as a dream come true, expressing excitement about exploring Indian music traditions like sitar and tabla.

Australian envoy Philip Green highlighted the growing Indian-origin community in Australia and its role in strengthening bilateral ties. The High Commission plans to host more such cultural events, showcasing shared heritage and artistic collaboration between the two nations.
