This historic and ongoing trauma is central to understanding Israel and Palestine's ongoing conflict.

Rooted in Zionism and enabled by British colonial policy, the Nakba involved the destruction of over 500 villages and the erasure of Palestinian life.

Today, that legacy lives on through military occupation, settlement expansion, and refugee crises. In Gaza, a second Nakba looms, with families displaced multiple times and cities flattened.

The struggle for return, justice, and freedom remains at the heart of Palestinian identity and resistance.
