Language and Literacy Activities for Preschoolers

Looking for ways to keep your preschooler #learningathome? #LakeshoreLearning is here to help…with three quick, easy #literacy activities!

For these activities, grab a few of your child’s favorite books. You’ll also need paper and crayons or markers. First, read one of the books with your child and invite her to draw her favorite character. For an extra challenge, have your child write the character’s name below the picture! Next, read another book with your child, have her draw her favorite part, and ask what she likes about that part. Finally, read the books by flashlight! Afterward, ask your child to compare reading in the dark to reading with the light on. These simple at-home activities let children have fun and get creative while practicing key language skills!
