Thursley Common Surrey A Mushroom Safari and Witcher Season 4 Location Marie Ascot

Marie Ascot at Thursley Common Surrey with the Kevin Rambles group.
The scenery is more reminiscent of Africa rather than of England hence the term safari. The only wildlife being horse riders and dog walkers.
Thursley National Nature Reserve is part of the Surrey Hills Natural Landscape and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest SSI containing dry heath land and peat bogs. In 2020 is suffered an incredible wildfire that caused great damage. The restored boardwalk was reopened in 2023 by Jeremy Hunt. Thursley is named after the pagan god Thor. Thor’s Lee.


Thursley Common is the film location for Season 4 of The Witcher.
In the distance you can see charterhouse school which is where the band Genesis formed. Peter Gabriel, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks and Anthony Philips studied there.
