Lee Kuan Yew's Philosophy | FROM THIRD WORLD TO FIRST

Описание к видео Lee Kuan Yew's Philosophy | FROM THIRD WORLD TO FIRST

From the two books SINGAPORE STORY and FROM THIRD WORLD TO FIRST -- with a combined 1200 pages -- these are the 3 ideas that I personally connect with the most.

1. He admired his grandfather who admired the British -- because "the British officers left him with a lasting impression of order, strength, and efficiency."
I relate to this because I heard similar stories from my own grandparents.

2. He placed importance on "getting the basics right." He listed his immediate pressing concerns and systematically took steps to address them one by one.
I like this because it serves as a reminder that my natural human instinct is to go full speed ahead without spending time on "the basics."

3. He was impartial and fair. He demonstrated time and time again that he was willing and able to do what was necessary.
I admire this because I think it's important to try to see things as how they are.
