On September 27, 2024, TIDC hosted the orientation of its Family Protection Mentorship Program. Guest Speaker J. Ryann Peyton, Director of the Colorado Attorney Mentorship Program, presented a training session entitled, “Formulas for Effective Lawyer Mentoring.” Leveraging the most recent research to illustrate the power and impact of positive mentoring relationships, the presentation examines why relationships sometimes fail and how to productively understand, plan, implement, and evaluate the mentoring experience. The discussion incorporated an in-depth discussion of the “role” of a mentor, as well as best practices and tools to make the mentoring relationship a success.
