This made highpoint number 29 for the Hall Family. At 1979 feet above sea level, Mount Arvon is harder to get to than it is to actually summit. There is a lot of dirt forest road driving involved. We stayed in a hotel in the town of Baraga, MI, right on the shores of Lake Superior. From our hotel it was nearly an hour drive to make it to the trailhead.

The walk to and around the summit area is very easy. We had good weather and great views from the overlook. We had the summit to ourselves on a weekday night during summer.

I read a lot about people getting lost or having a hard time making it to the top but honestly, if you follow the blue signs the whole way, it wasn't hard at all. The road can get very muddy in rain so we chose to tack it on to the end of a long day rather than go the following morning due to the chance of rain.
