Watch | Tom Cruise Honoured with US Navy’s Highest Civilian Award

Tom Cruise was saluted by the United States Navy on December 17, 2024. In a short intimate ceremony at a London film studio, the actor was presented with a Navy Distinguished Public Service Award. Cruise said he was proud to be awarded the honor by the United States Secretary of the Navy, Carlos Del Toro in appreciation of his distinguished public service.
Cruise, who first took to the skies as Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in 1986, helped boost recruitment with his portrayal and was also commended for his roles in “Born on the Fourth of July,” “A Few Good Men,” and the “Mission: Impossible” movies. Cruise accepted the award in the U.K. where he is currently working.
