📌Summary:

CRIME- It is an act committed or ommitted in violation of public law forbidding or commanding it.

ACT- Any action of a person that produces change in the outside world.

OMMISSION - Failure of a person to perform a legal duty which he is bound by the law to do.

Take note! To consider an act or ommission as a crime, there must be a law that makes such act or ommission punishable. This is based on the maxim NULLUM CRIMEN NULLA POENA SINE LEGE.

3 TYPES OF CRIME
Felony
Offense
Infraction

FELONY - It is an act or ommission punishable by the Revised Penal Code.

OFFENSE - It is an act or ommission in violation of special law.

INFRACTION - An act or Ommission in Violation of city or municipal ordinance.

Take note!
Both Felony and Offense are Applicable to the entire Philippines however, Infraction is applicable only within the jurisdiction of city or municipality.
