Why would a woman who had been molested as a child choose a misogynist partner? Why do individuals require pain or shame to be sexually aroused? Why do couples recreate actively unfinished family-of-origin “burdens”? Logic would suggest that an individual might be repelled by repetition of negative early childhood experiences instead of drawn to them.
