Hardwood pond in Elmore is a beautiful wilderness pond that is only accessible by hiking in. Many bird enthusiasts and state wildlife agencies use it for bird watching and loon surveys. The road was washed out and I didn't attempt the 2 mile hike in but the foliage from up there was stunning! I was at about 2000 feet with the drone and the altitude change really makes the change happen sooner. I did get pretty close to the pond and plan on making it in there some day!
