Ickenham Model Railway Live Steam • Roundhouse 32mm Loco • Garden Railway

The Ickenham District Society of Model Engineers (IDSME) has both a ground level 5 inch / 3.5 inch combo layout as well as a relatively new raised “Garden Railway” track layout. This afternoon Graeme, a club member, invited me to join in and help with the running of his Roundhouse 32mm live steam loco on the raised track.

What an enjoyable afternoon I had! Great fun seeing and listening to live steam at work. Such powerful little locos.

Graeme’s loco is a 32mm, narrow gauge saddle-tank loco by Roundhouse.

Simon, another club member, has a similar loco with a few differences. Can you spot some of them?

Simon’s other loco is Dennis, of the Glyn Valley Tramway fame.

Indy, the junior club member, was running his Jinty, Fowler Class 3F, O-Gauge loco and waggons too.

Simon’s carriages were amazing, including little figures each presenting their own story and character.
