Barbara Libby-Steinmann is a Nation Board Certified Visual Arts educator, teaching art to grades TK-4th at Bacich Elementary in Kentfield. Out of more than 300,000 K-12 educators in California, Barbara has been recognized as a top teacher and a California Teacher of the year finalist.  Barbara is the chair of the Marin County Visual Arts Professional Learning Community and has been instrumental in developing the Marin ArtEd Vision plan to bring the Arts to every student and communities. She is a fine-arts painter and a strong arts mentor for students - recognizing the importance of integrating art into the school's curriculum to enhance learning.  Barbara’s 15 plus years of service in the visual arts field have had a lasting impact on her community and all the students she serves. Apart from her teaching, Barbara makes sure to schedule time on weekends and during time off from school to work in her studio. It is important to her to stay current with her personal craft, oil paintings and pen and ink drawings. Whenever possible she exhibits her work in group-and solo shows.
