KiwiRail Freights As Autumn Officially Begins

The first couple weeks of March have seen some very impressive amount of tonnage being railed in and out of Dunedin which have made for some wicked footage of these trains climbing up the steep inclines as they make their way up to the Mihiwaka Tunnel and absolutely hoofing it through Caversham at speed!

00:03 DFB 7158 & DXC 5402 with 932 rounding the bend at Burnside in full power as stormy skies approach from the South!

01:25 DFBs 7267 & 7010 with a very heavy 930 seen notching up from the 40kmh restriction at Burnside with 2200 tonnes!!

03:15 DFB 7173 with 934 roaring her way past the Iona Presbyterian Church at Port Chalmers

04:15 Not long after we see the same train as it climbs the grade to Seacliff powering round the curve at Warrington

05:15 DXB 5448 and DFB 7241 with 925 zooming past the level crossing at Neptune Street shortly before they arrive into Dunedin

06:20 With just the DXC in power doing the hard work we see DXC 5206 and DCP 4801 with 934 chugging its way up Port Chalmers in stunning lighting!

07:35 A massive 48 wagons on Y22O shunt hauled by DFB 7186 & DXB 5166 smokin' their way through Caversham not long after sunrise! making their way to the Fonterra Plant in Taieri

09:05 In miserable weather conditions it was worth getting wet for to witness DXB 5051 lifting its 2000 tonne train 932 off a restriction at Burnside wheelslipping in the rain sounding bloody wonderful!

10:55 DXBs 5120 & 5080 with 937D getting away from the Dunedin at speed as they thunder through Caversham after the rain had settled down

12:20 DFB 7173 & DXB 5166 with 925 rushes past Neptune Street Level Crossing haulin ass!

13:20 DFB 7241 & DXB 5051 erupt into Notch 8 as they lift their heavy train 926D through Neptune Street before the heavy rain arrived

14:35 DFB 7213 & DFT 7226 in elephant fashion on 934 smokin their way as they begin the climb above Port Chalmers

15:30 In less then ideal weather conditions we see DXBs 5120 & 5080 honking their way past Caversham with 937D zooming past tryna escape the heavy rain
