Описание к видео Soviet soldiers first saw the Stuka – by the end of the war, they called it "the starving crow".

During World War II, the Ju 87 Stuka was Germany’s weapon of terror.
Slow, precise, and screaming out of the sky, it was designed to break armies before bombs even hit the ground. In 1941, Soviet soldiers didn’t need to know its name — they only needed to hear it.
But what Germany never realized…
was that the Stuka’s power came from chaos.
And chaos doesn’t last.
As the Eastern Front changed, Soviet troops adapted. Air defenses multiplied. Formations stopped breaking. Targets dispersed. By 1944, the aircraft that once ruled the battlefield was predictable, vulnerable, and increasingly ignored.
By the final year of the war, Red Army soldiers had a new name for it:
“the starving crow.”

In this video, you’ll discover:
✈️ Why the Stuka dominated early battles — and why that dominance quietly vanished
🔥 How Soviet tactics and air defenses stripped away its psychological power
📉 And how one of Germany’s most feared weapons faded away — not by being destroyed, but by becoming irrelevant

👉 Watch until the end to see how fear lost its grip on the battlefield — and how the Stuka met its unexpected downfall.
