Manta Dive!

Short clip of our Manta dive in Kona, HI. 6-18-24. We saw 23 unique manta rays, which can be identified by their unique freckle patterns on their bellies. Total dive time was 45 minutes, where we sat on the bottom and watched as the mantas fed on the plankton attracted by the dive lights. It's hard to convey the scale of these majestic creatures over video. We think the largest one in the group (named Big Bertha) is a little over 15 feet from wing tip to wing tip, and weighed around 1,000 pounds. They would often come within inches of our heads, eating the plankton attracted to our handheld dive lights.
