Recorded my first experience testing FSD Beta in my Tesla Model Y! Had to sign up and try when the price was reduced to $99/month. This version was impressive, but definitely has room for improvement.

My vehicle is currently stuck on 2024.8.9 (FSD 11.4.9), and am eagerly awaiting the update to FSD12 or higher. I'll see if I can get an updated video to compare!

Route Origin: 226 Smithtown Blvd, Nesconset, NY 11767
Destination: 6 Technology Dr, East Setauket, NY 11733
Trip Length: 6.4 Miles - 30min total (sped up waits at stoplights)

Timestamps:
0:45 - Drive Begins
1:25 - Disengagement #1. Took a bit too long crossing over two unprotected lanes with opposing traffic. Traffic was quickly approaching from the left.
2:25 - Begins merge into turning lane way to early, does not appear to notice pickup truck waiting to turn into nearby lot.
8:30 - Safely avoids jaywalking pedestrian
9:40 - Not a disengagement, though I did manually use the accelerator to move into traffic.
10:10 - Disengagement #2 Was not merging into turning lane at the right time, would have missed turn.
11:02 - Disengagement #3 Not really sure about this one, felt like it was sitting still in the intersection longer than it needed to. Cars were lining up behind me waiting to turn. It does appear to begin the turn just before I take over. What do you think?
13:05 - Disengagement #4. FSD was confused by new traffic pattern. To be fair, this is more of a navigation problem that Google Maps needs to fix. Previously, the right two lanes were both turning lanes for Rt347. With the updated pattern, only the far-right lane is turning, with the 2nd lane for straight crossing. FSD attempted to use this 2nd lane as a turning lane.
14:00 - Disengagement #5. Began attempting a merge into the left lane during turn, into the direction of another vehicle next to me. I believe it still thought that both were turning lanes. Yes, the vehicle next to me was also not following the rules.
17:00-18:00 - me rambling about EV spotting on the road 😅
22:50 - Arrived at destination
