During this virtual ethics roundtable, she presents on the state of ethics within the nonprofit sector, and how she utilized the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Principles to educate students and ensure their success before they enter the workplace.

Nonprofit organizations make headline news every year for fraud, embezzlement, and misappropriating funds. Shouldn’t the sector in charge of holding us to a higher moral standard, exemplify the strongest ethical standards? Why is then that nonprofits are so frequently embroiled in scandal? What can be done to build ethical organizations? How do we learn from the cases we’ve seen in conjunction with the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Principles to create a more sustainable future?

DFEI Ethics Roundtables are held throughout the academic year and open to all UCCS faculty, staff, Southern Colorado Ethics Consortium schools and interested students with the intent to share their best practices, classroom experiences, subject specific course materials, and address specific concerns. Roundtables provide UCCS faculty and staff along with invited guests the opportunity to hear about how others teach ethics and implement principle based ethics in their work or area of expertise.
