Ducati has just unveiled its new 2025 Streetfighter V2 and Streetfighter V2 S at EICMA, alongside the updated Panigale V2 and V2 S models. This simultaneous release is a bit unusual for Ducati, as they typically launch their bikes in stages, but it has created a lot of excitement for fans of the brand.
The Streetfighter V2 is essentially a stripped-down Panigale V2, with Ducati taking off some of the bodywork and adding a handlebar, making it a lighter, more aggressive-looking bike. It is, in fact, the lightest Streetfighter Ducati has ever made, weighing almost 40 pounds less than the model it replaces. A big part of this weight reduction comes from the new 890 cubic centimeter V2 engine, but it also benefits from lighter surrounding components.
This new 890cc unit delivers a claimed 120 hp at 10,750 rpm with 68.8 lb.-ft. peak torque at 8,250 rpm, but with 70 percent of peak torque available at just 3,000 rpm.
The new Streetfighter V2 has several accessories to increase its performance on the track or make it more versatile for road use. With the racing exhaust, reserved for use on the circuit, you can increase the maximum power to 126 horsepower and reduce the weight of the bike by 10 lbs. And the Lap Timer Pro self-timing system, using the Track Infomode, displays lap times, split times and improvements in the rider's performance in real time. Those who wish to enjoy the Streetfighter V2 on the road can mount cruise control, turn-by-turn navigation, a USB power socket, or the TPMS tire pressure sensor.
One glance at the new Streetfighter, and it is undeniably part of Ducati’s Streetfighter family. The design is all about that raw, mechanical look, with the nearly exposed engine making it feel bolder and tougher. Most of the remaining bodywork is concentrated at the front, framing the sharp full light-emitting diode (LED) headlight and daytime running light. The rear section closely mirrors the Panigale V2, giving it a seamless design flow from front to back. Ducati has even brought back dual under-tail exhausts, reminiscent of the brand’s superbike past, though the return may be a mixed bag for some riders, as the exhaust position was known to generate heat at low speeds.
Underneath, the Streetfighter V2 shares its main cast aluminum frame with the Panigale, using a monocoque front that serves double duty as both frame and airbox. The engine is a stressed member, adding strength and stability. The double-sided swingarm design, similar to the Panigale V4, keeps the bike stable even at intense lean angles.
The Streetfighter V2 and V2 S differ in suspension and weight reduction. The standard V2 comes with a Marzocchi fork and Kayaba shock absorber, while the V2 S boasts an Öhlins suspension and a lithium-ion battery to cut down further on weight.
The electronics suite on these models is top-notch, featuring Cornering Anti-lock Braking System with slide-by-brake, traction and wheelie control, quick-shift, and four Riding Modes for versatile control.
The Ducati Streetfighter V2 hits dealerships in the second quarter of 2025, offered in classic Ducati Red, starting at fourteen thousand nine hundred ninety-five dollars for the standard model and seventeen thousand nine hundred ninety-five dollars for the S version.
