"Das Model" is a song by Kraftwerk from their 1978 album "Die Mensch-Maschine". This song was inspired by the models who worked at The Bagel nightclub in Cologne. It is the story of a high fashion model as she gets through her busy day.

Originally written in German, both the song and the album exist in English too, called "The Model" and "The Man-Machine" respectively. But this feels like a pure marketing move without any creative impulse behind it. Original German versions appeal so much more to me, there's this special vibe of the language. Also that awesome "korrrrrrekt", the lyrical highlight of the song for me, is missing in the English lyrics.

Both German and English versions were covered by many bands, Rammstein and Big Black to name a couple.
