As you may be aware, the computer doesn't speak or understand human languages. Still, to communicate your instructions to the computer, you can write them in a human language, using characters, letters, symbols, and words you are familiar with. When doing this, you prepare text that would be communicated to the computer. For the computer to understand these instructions, they must be "translated" into the computer's own language, also called the machine language. This intermediary "translator" is also called a compiler. We discussed java "compiler" in detail in this video so watch it till end.
JAVA was developed by Sun Microsystems Inc in 1991, later acquired by Oracle Corporation. It was developed by James Gosling and Patrick Naughton. It is a simple programming language. Writing, compiling and debugging a program is easy in java. It helps to create modular programs and reusable code.Each operating system has different JVM, however the output they produce after execution of bytecode is same across all operating systems. We will discuss about JVMs in our next video.
Java is an object-oriented programming language. Object oriented programming is a way of organizing programs as collection of objects, each of which represents an instance of a class.Java is considered as one of simple language because it does not have complex features like Operator overloading, Multiple inheritance, pointers and Explicit memory allocation.We don’t have pointers and we cannot access out of bound arrays{We will talk about Arrays and Array Lists in our later videos}.
