Thane’s most affordable location that you have never heard of: Shree Nagar

It is on the border of Mumbai and Thane. Yet it’s likely that most people living in Mumbai or Thane would not even know of it.

Built in 1982 - it has a small town vibe. Green, peaceful, small buildings and unglamorous shops. It’s well connected and that may make it a good location. But it is not a fashionable address. There is nothing that dazzles in this neighbourhood. Home prices in Shree Nagar are significantly lower than its surrounding areas in Mulund and Thane.

One developer Ashar is looking to change that with a large project with skyscrapers and amenities. It’s even rebranded the location as “Mulund Thane Corridor”

But can that make it an address to be proud of? Unlikely. It will need many things to come together but perhaps the beginning has been made.
