Gulf Harbour is a lovely coastal suburb situated on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, just north of Auckland, New Zealand. It's a developing residential area with a diverse mix of housing, including both single-family homes and apartments, with stunning views over the Hauraki Gulf. The suburb is a great choice for those seeking a laid-back lifestyle with access to water-based activities and outdoor pursuits.
At the heart of Gulf Harbour is the Gulf Harbour Marina, one of the largest marinas in New Zealand and home to hundreds of boats of various types and sizes. This is the centre of nautical activities in the area. The marina is not just for the private boat owner, but also serves charter boats, ferry services, and commercial fishing vessels.
The Gulf Harbour Marina offers a full range of amenities for boaters including fuel, a haul-out yard, and on-site marine services for boat maintenance and repair. Around the marina, you'll find a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants. The marina is also the departure point for ferries going to Auckland city centre and Tiritiri Matangi Island, a renowned bird sanctuary.
