Determination of Aggregate Crushing Value || Aggregate Crushing Strength || Aggregate Test (ACV)

Описание к видео Determination of Aggregate Crushing Value || Aggregate Crushing Strength || Aggregate Test (ACV)

Aggregate used in road construction should be strong enough to resist crushing under a traffic wheel load. If the aggregate is weak, the stability of the pavement structure is likely to be adversely affected. The strength of coarse aggregate is assessed by the aggregate crushing test. The
aggregate crushing value provides a relative measure of resistance to crushing under a gradually
applied compressive load. To achieve a high quality of pavement, aggregate possessing low aggregate crushing value should be preferred.
With the aggregate of an aggregate crushing value higher than 30 the result may be anomalous and in such as the ten percent fines value should be determined instead.

CALCULATION
The ratio of the mass of fines formed to the total mass of the sample in each test shall be expressed as a percentage, the result being recorded to the first decimal place.
Percentage Fines: B/A x 100
Where,
A is the mass of surface dry sample (gm)
B is the mass of the fraction passing the 2.36 mm BS test sieve (gm)
