How to build a growout cage.

Описание к видео How to build a growout cage.

Chris gives a step-by-step tutorial on how to build a quick growout cage for your fryer rabbits so they have space to grow. After weening them at 6 weeks, you'll need somewhere for them to "grow out" for another 4-6 weeks until they get to harvest weight. This standard growout cage is done with minimal cutting of standard length lumber and provides a few things: a covered area for shade and protection from rain/wind, an open area for cross breeze and visibility, and a lid to keep everyone secure. Elevation is optional, but recommended if you don't intend to use this as a tractor.

Cut List:
1ea 4' x 8' plywood/OSB
24" roll of chicken wire for sides (total of ~12 feet)
24" roll of 1/2"x1/2" hardware cloth for floor (total of ~8 feet)...you can use chicken wire here too if you plan to keep this at ground level and use as a tractor.
6ea 2"x4"x8' studs (this builds just the frame)...if you want the reinforced flooring like I did, then add 1 more. Also, buy what you need for the 4 legs if you want to elevate it like I did.
Staple gun/staples
Screws/nails
2-4 small hinges to attach lid

Cut 2 of the 2x4's into 2 foot lengths to get a total of 8 pieces.
Cut the plywood in half lengthwise (2'x8' lengths). I failed to mention in the video that the remaining 2'x8' strip of plywood/OSB is your lid. For the other piece, cut two sides into 37"x24" and the remaining piece needs to be trimmed about an inch to fit on the end.
