In this exclusive making-of video from Wild Canada – The Eternal Frontier, the crew sets out to film wildlife underwater in the icy waters off Newfoundland and the high Arctic. Using topside high-speed cameras and a team goes filming underwater led by legendary diver Didier Noirot, they faced fog, freezing temps, and murky waters filled with millions of capelin — the primary food of humpback whales.

🎥 Despite these obstacles, they captured one of the most unforgettable moments ever filmed: three humpback whales swimming directly over the camera.

🐋 Plus, for the first time ever, the spawning behavior of capelin (believed to date back to the Ice Age) was recorded while the crew was filming underwater wildlife.
