First part in a 3-part series on how to use a spreadsheet for all kinds of magnetic-antennas (loops, frame-antennas, loopstick-antennas etc.)
Here single-loop antennas are calculated as an introduction to get acquainted with the different input-parameters.
Centerpiece is the calculation of the Q-factor by taking many detrimental effects into account (skin-effect, external and internal proximity-effect)
Some surprising findings can be gained by playing around with the variables especially when comparing litz-wire, solid copper-wire and copper-tubing.
