== MORE DETAILS
NAVAN FORT CENTRE
Starting at Navan Fort Centre (Eamhain Mhacha) near Armagh (Ard Mhacha), County Armagh,

BALLYKEEL DOLMEN
we travel to Ballykeel Dolmen (An Dolmain Baile Caol), Co Armagh - A 6,000 year old Neolithic Portal Tomb dated to 4,000 BC(E) and located within the Ring of Gullion, an area rich in megalithic sites.

CASTLE ROCHE
From there we travel to Castle Roche (Caisleán Roche nó Dún Gall), Co Louth, which is a Norman Castle built in AD 1236 (CE). Commissioned by and built for Lady Roesia de Verdun making it Ireland's only official "woman-built" castle. There is also an eery murder mystery and intrigue to its history. It was eventually destroyed during the english Civil War in AD 1641 (CE).

ST BRIGID'S SHRINE AND BIRTHPLACE
Next we take a wee stop at St Brigid's Shrine (Scrín Naomh Bríd) in Faughart Co Louth. This is where she was born in AD 436 (CE) at Fochaird Muirtheimne Contae An Lú. She died on 01 February in Kildare (Cill Dara) and is buried at Downpatrick with St. Columba and St. Patrick, the three patron saints of Ireland.

CASTLE MOYRY
We finish our tour at Castle Moyry (Caisleán An Mhaighre), which was a plantation castle built in AD 1601 (CE). Named after the Gaeilge (Irish) for Plain of the King (Má(gh) Rí), it was built by Lord Mountjoy to secure the Pass and Gap of the North.

THE TERROR OF MOYRY CASTLE
After Lord Mountjoy completed the castle, he left his warder and 12 men to garrison the Castle in 1601. Shortly after this, his warder shot a local Draoi (druid/wizard). The Draoi's familiar was an huge black cat (Cat Dubh Sí(dhe)), who in revenge, destroyed the garrison. He slit the throats of the army's flocks and herds and carried them off. For years after, the Cat of Moyry Castle was a terror to the sasanach soldiers of the pale. "Cat maith!"
