Описание к видео How to Make Percussion Sounds on the Sonicware Liven Ambient Ø | Percussion Synthesis Tutorial

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to make percussion sounds on the Sonicware Liven Ambient Ø. With its combination of wavetable, ring modulation and FM synthesis, the synthesizer is surpassingly capable in this regard. It can also be a good starting point for learning about percussion synthesis (or at least it was for me). The video covers a variety of percussive sounds, including drums, high hats, and other melodic percussion sounds, reminiscent of bells, xylophones, marimbas, toy pianos etc.

The question to answer in the comments (if you want): So, as I was making this video, I realized that one of the reasons why I’ve stopped making as many tutorial videos as I used to is that I’ve come to dread the work of editing them. I speak a lot less smoothly than it might sound like I do in the videos; the way I achieve the smoothness is by editing out a whole lot of silences and false starts. And by a lot, I mean a lot—there are many hundreds, if not 1000+ edits in a video like this. Editing out the silences manually is really tedious and I kind of hate it—so with this video, for the first time, I tried using some software that does the job automatically. I think I can calibrate the settings a bit better next time (a few words got garbled here and there, but I think I can avoid this by adjusting the setting for the threshold for what’s considered silence)… so, I’m just wondering if this pace more or less works for most people? Or are there too few gaps between words and sentences now? Also, there is a bit of degradation in the audio quality of the narration. Is it very noticeable? Is it ok? I’m just looking for feedback on these specific things. (I mention that because I feel like if you open yourself up to a little feedback, people sometimes interpret it as you opening the floodgate for any and all feedback… but I’m a bit too sensitive for that!)
