It’s important to know that these will not taste like the canned beans you can buy at the supermarket. These are much richer and unique in flavor, certainly great for anyone who loves homemade food.

There are so many other breakfast dishes that go great with baked beans such as scrambled eggs, corned beef hash, fried eggs, bacon and so much more.

A list of all the ingredients you need for this recipe can be found right below. This will come in handy if you need to go shopping or just want to know what ingredients you need to have.

800g (2 lbs) Navy Beans or Cannellini Beans (Dried or canned)
500g (1 lb) bacon or pork, cubed
1 onion, chopped
2 tsp. garlic, crushed
2 Tbsp. honey or molasses
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp. tomato paste
2x cans crushed tomatoes
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. rosemary
2 tsp. paprika
2 Bay leaves

If you decide to use dried beans then make sure you soak them in water overnight. Once soaked you can add them into the slow cooker but you might want to add a bit longer onto the cooking time. Adding
four or more hours should be more than enough.

The leftovers of these beans can be kept for 3-4 days if stored correctly in the fridge. If you want to make them last longer then I highly recommend freezing them. Simply reheat in the microwave or oven whenever you need some beans.

I really hope that you enjoy these homemade slow cooker baked beans and they taste as great as they did for me. If you have some issues, feedback or anything else that you would like to say then please feel free to leave a comment below or over at slowcookingperfected.com
