My Hike with Grant to Heaven's Peak.

Raw footage put together from iPhone and GoPro. There is no fancy editing, this is just meant to show some of Grant's last moments hiking up to Heaven's Peak before he went off to do McPartland. I was running low on battery and in typical fashion, he was always hard to keep up with and didn't say much! As much as I was hoping there would be some clips of us having one of our incredibly deep conversations that we always seemed to share, it wasn't meant to be recorded. And that's ok. Please enjoy as Grant would want us to - full of love and gratitude.

After Grant took off from Heaven's peak, I was met with several omens like the two ravens that landed on the spot exactly where he took off, like the butterfly that just landed on my hand and didn't want to seem to fly away, like the God-rays of light that came down over McPartland after I last saw Grant climbing down the face of Heaven's peak.

I told Grant on our way up that I wanted to bring prayer flags with me to leave at the top of every mountain that I climbed and he gently reminded me of the Leave No Trace policy...so I decided to capture photos of the prayer flags flying over the top of Heaven's peak instead.

On our last day of the search, it ended up being exactly 1 week to the minute from which I climbed down to notify authorities that he hadn't come back. I decided to capture the sunset and what I was feeling having just learned that we found his body as a way to honor Grant for all that he had given me and all of us. I am eternally grateful for knowing and sharing experiences with Grant - a true legend of our time.
