The ministry of health working with partners like the United Nations Children’s Fund- UNICEF, has implemented a number of interventions in the West-Nile Sub-region to improve newborn survival and reduce maternal deaths.
These interventions include the setting up of neonatal intensive care units and high dependence units for mothers, refurbishment of operating theatres and provision of resuscitation equipment for babies.
