This is #3 in a trilogy of solos that I've done for him, starting with "Solar Fire Cells" on his first solo album "The Radial Covenant", to "To Sow The Seeds Of Earth" from "The Crypts Of Sleep", to this one.

When he first sent me the song and explained to me that it had original been written for Blotted Science (the extreme metal project by ‪@ronjarz‬ Watchtower and Alex Webster of ‪@cannibalcorpse‬ ), I wanted to deliver something that would not only work with the solo section (which was rhythmically and harmonically challenging in itself) but also would pay tribute to Ron's work (who has been one of my favorite guitarists and composer ever since I heard Watchtower's "Control & resistance" album as a teenager and subsequently went on to transcribe that entire album back in the day) as well as keep the lineage of unique solos for Hannes going. As he always has fantastic guest guitar players on his albums (this time my buddies ‪@KevinHeiderich‬ and ‪@justin.hombach‬ ), to me the only logical artistic conclusion is to come up with something that sounds nothing like what these fine players would have done.

Tone-wise, I'm using my ‪@kemperampsofficial‬ Profiler, with the harmony-tracks going through the ‪@NeuralDSP‬ Mesa/Boogie Mark II+ plugin.
