First North Korean media reports on South’s political crisis

North Korean state-run television has reported for the first time about political turmoil in the South since President Yoon Suk-yeol's failed attempt to impose martial law. After a week-long silence, Korean Central Television reported on December 11, 2024, that there was growing "social unrest" in South Korea because of the martial law crisis. The dispatch included little commentary and mostly carried South Korean and international media reports. The bulletin focused on recent protests involving more than a million people calling for Yoon's impeachment.
