YOSHArrangement #1 - Kapayapaan (Cover)

Once upon a time, my bandmate Karel and I got together and talked about doing this passion project where we would play songs that were arranged by either me or him, but we would feature our band, Yosha. Since it’s quarantine season, we thought of jump starting the project, and here we are - our first song is ready!
This first song is one from the awesome reggae band, Tropical Depression. Bamboo Mañalac chose the song and asked me to arrange it when we were doing The Voice Kids Season 3 back in 2016. He was supposed to give the song to whoever was gonna make it to the finals on his team. While thinking of what to do with the song, he goes, “Do you think we can turn it into a ballad?” So that’s what i tried to do. It didn’t really turn out to be a ballad per se, but something slower. Eventually, he decided not to use it, even if the arrangement was finished. Fast forward to 2017, he then gives it to his finalist, Lala Vinzon, to sing in the grand finals of The Voice Teens Season 1. He decided to turn it into a duet and that’s what they sang in the “sing with your coach” round. Lala would end up finishing in 2nd place.
