Is Buying an 8K Camera Overkill?

Are you in the market for a new camera and torn between investing in a 4K camera or taking the dive into 8K? Is an 8K camera overkill for your needs? What is it like dealing with 8K footage on your computer in your editor? How does it behave in Adobe Premiere. What is the experience difference between 8K RAW or compressed H2.65? I go over all of this in my take on having owned both an 8K Canon R5 C camera after first getting a 6K RED Epic Dragon and coming from filming with 2 different 4K Sony cameras.
