Описание к видео Singleton, West Sussex; fabulous winter walk

Join us on a winter walk around the village of Singleton in West Sussex, and the beautiful Levin Down nature reserve. Singleton is located approximately 6 miles north of Chichester.

Due to its cinematic nature, this video is best watched on a large screen, such as a TV, to fully appreciate the visual detail and immersive aural experience we try to convey.

We started our walk close to Singleton village hall; the River Lavant was very fast flowing, unlike on one of our previous walks here -    • Singleton & Charlton, West Sussex; fa...  .

A frosty morning soon warmed as the sun rose, and we made our way up Levin Down. As we ascended, the views became more impressive; looking behind we could see Singleton village with views of Charlton Down beyond to the east and the Isle of Wight in the west. And to the north, what seemed like endless, beautiful Sussex countryside. Aside from the views, we were accompanied by the continuous song from numerous Skylarks, as they repeatedly rose and the dived to the ground.

The eastern part of Levin Down is a nature reserve, and whilst there was not a huge amount of wildlife at this time of year, there was enough to make one aware that Spring is definitely here. As the air warmed, thermal currents started to form, which brought out the Red Kites and Common Buzzards - it is amazing to see how they are masters of their environment.

We then descended to the River Lavant on the outskirts of Charlton, from where we followed its course back to Singleton.

Singleton is the quintessential West Sussex village in terms of its historic buildings and architectural styles. We did not film the entire village on this occasion as this is available in one of our previous videos -    • Singleton & Charlton, West Sussex; fa...  .

Further information about the village maybe found here - https://wikishire.co.uk/wiki/Singleto... and http://www.westsussex.info/singleton.....

The C11 St Mary's church, which has undergone many changes over the centuries, forms part of one of the iconic views of the village (07:39). More details of the church are available at https://sussexparishchurches.org/chur....

As you will see from the video, aside from the Skylarks, Red Kites and Buzzards, we saw a few other birds including Rook, Dunnock, Chaffinch, Carrion Crow and Great tit.

Walking Levin Down requires some effort (it is a hill!), and is a little muddy in places at this time of year. Aside from that, this walk is fairly easy going, so suitable for most ages and abilities.

All background and natural sounds were recorded during our time filming.

We hope you enjoyed watching as much as we enjoyed walking. If you did, please remember to click the thumbs up (like) button, and leave a comment.
