The American journalist and creator of gonzo journalism spoke to Omnibus about the myth associated with his partially fictionalised alter ego, Raoul Duke. The apparent lack of a clear divide between the two had become a problem with Thompson who expresses his frustrations with the Omnibus crew and also speaks of the journalistic challenges associated with his fame.

This clip is from Omnibus: Fear and Loathing on the Road to Hollywood, originally broadcast on BBC One, Thursday 2 November, 1978.
